How do you know when you've reached über geek status about your own books? When the Tylertown Friends of the Library invites you to speak and you are (I am) so excited that you never realize how much more sense it would make to speak during April, Parkinson's Awareness Month, until you've already accepted for March. Thank you to Mr. John Thornhill (Amy's dad, Martha's husband)for managing to get me invited. I'm really looking forward to it!
Church libraries are one of the places I have seen be able to put my books to their best use. If you are in the Jackson or Clinton area and think your church would use them, I would give a set of all three books to your church library. Please speak to me about this on Friday September 5 at my book signing party at 4:30 p.m. at the Cascades Swim and Racquet Club or at Thomas R. Ruffin's Book Launch and Big Ol' Party at 7:30 p.m. If you cannot be there Friday, write to me. I hope many people, of all ages, will come at 4:30 p.m.
UPS tells me that copies of all three of my books will arrive today for next Friday's Book Signing Party!
A week from Friday, on September 5th, please come to the Cascades Swim and Racquet Club at 4:30 for my book signing party. I will be there to meet girls and boys, parents, grandparents and anyone else who is interested. I will answer questions about writing and illustrating books, and about Parkinson's disease. My dear friend, Victoria Lyn Little Waters, will read "Face It" to us. Copies of "Face It," and my other two books, will be available for sale starting at 3:30. I will begin signing books at 4:30. A little later, we will assess the weather. If necessary, we will move into the clubhouse for our storytime. We will stay outside otherwise, so be sure to bring lawn chairs.
At 7:30 pm I will be back to attend Thomas R. Ruffin's Precious Indignity Book Launch and Big Ol'Party. Randy Ruffin, Jen Mulvihill, Richard McGahey, Jerry File, Jr. and I will all be there to sign books, meet readers, and have a good time. The 7:30 signing is for adults and is BYOB. Let me just say I'm THRILLED to be invited and I look forward to seeing you there.

Mrs. Hensley will be present at 4:30 to sign books, and to answer questions about writing and publishing books, and about Parkinson’s disease. She will also be present at 7:30 to participate in Thomas R. Ruffin’s Precious Indignity Launch Event and Big Ol’ Party, which is geared toward adults.
Mrs. Hensley is in her tenth year of living with Parkinson’s disease. That whole time, she has also been a mother. She has written her first three books to help children deal with the range if feelings they may feel when chronic illness strikes an adult they love. She has invited a friend to read Face It because her speech often becomes hard to understand.
Copies of Face It will be for sale at the Signing Party, and from Mrs. Hensley’s publisher, thewordverve.com, for $ 15. Sets of all three of her books can be bought for the special Signing Party price of $40 (list price $50).
Who Is Invited? Children, Parents, Grandparents, Teachers, School Counselors, School Librarians, Church Librarians, and other adults are all invited to this event. Admission is free. All are Welcome.
